I was born and raised in central Texas.  I graduated from Stephenville High School.  I attended Texas State University, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a major in Elementary Education and English as a Second Language. After finishing my bachelor’s degree in 2013, I completed a Masters in Education for Educational Leadership at Northwest Oklahoma State University in 2016.

I am currently serving my 11th year in education. The last 6 years I have been in an administration position as an assistant principal in a traditional school setting, principal for ESVCA, and now as our Head of School. I continue to choose education because I want to be part of a process to help individuals learn, to be part of something greater than just myself. I love to see others obtain a skill and to be educated in areas they may not have explored if it was not for the exposure of school curriculum in a school setting. In this new era, we need to accept that not all children want to be in the traditional school setting. Our children have a choice in their educational journey. I believe virtual public education can meet the new era of learning for students. To start authentic learning we need to emphasize individualizing educational pathways for all students. I will always believe a well-educated person takes risks, unafraid of failure or success, stemming from experiences in a caring and safe learning environment.

Hi! My name is Kylie Sanders and I am thrilled to join the E-School crew! I was born in Duncan, OK and attended Yukon High School. I have one sister who lives in Hydro, OK with her husband and my niece. In 2008, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education Degree from Oklahoma Christian University. I completed my masters in Education Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK. I currently live in Deer Creek with husband Chad & 2 sons (Max, 5 and Sutton, 2). We will be moving to the Guthrie area very soon! My husband is a football coach (Go Bluejays) and we attend Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond. I enjoy sports and being with friends and family. Fun fact: I eat ice cream with a fork.

I love education because you get a chance to show kids that school can and should be fun. Students get one chance at their education and it is my mission and goal to make any school I am a part of provide the best education for our students because they are our future. I can’t wait to join the Eagle staff and make your child’s education the best it can be with the best educators in the state!

I was born in Oklahoma and raised in Mustang. I went to school K-12 in Mustang and graduated in 2001. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education in 2003 from the University of Central Oklahoma and returned to obtain my Masters in 2012 to become a Reading Specialist. I chose Education because I love helping others. I am a herder. I like to organize and I love watching people grow. I enjoy using the skills God gave me to serve students and show them what they are capable of. I love seeing kids grasp new concepts and find lifelong interests through reading and studying the multitudes of things there are out there to learn. Out of the almost 20 years since I have graduated from college, I have taught for 7. In between those years, I have stayed home with 3 kiddos. I have done my very best to teach them as they were my students too. I chose Virtual because my youngest is 2 years old. I want to give him the same opportunities and experiences that my 14 and 15 year-olds had. I want him to have every moment to soak up the best knowledge he can get while I am doing what I love.

Born and raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma.  Graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Human Development and Family Science. Go Pokes!  I now reside in Guthrie with my husband, 10 children, 3 dogs and 5 chickens.  Started my experience with Education in 2018 as a chance to make a difference in student and teachers daily lives. I choose E-School Virtual Academy because of the flexibility and the opportunity it gives me and my children, who are also ESVCA students. Among my most favorite memories at E-School are my son earning the first athletic medal in cross country for ESVCA and handing my eldest son his high school diploma at graduation.

Hello, my name is Christy Connolly, and I am the Special Education Director at ESVCA. I was born in Birmingham, Michigan. My father was later transferred to Johnson City, Tennessee.  We then moved to Lake Worth, Florida for a few years before moving to Virginia, where I finished high school and graduated from the University of Virginia, with a Bachelor of Arts in May of 1995. 

After working as a special education teacher for a few years, I had the opportunity to move to New Hampshire where I was able to build a self-contained program for the state department to help students who were diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities. Once the program was successfully in place for the state department of education, I moved back to Virginia where I taught high school special education.  I realized that some of our special education students were also labeled “twice exceptional” and this really intrigued me. I went on to get my Gifted and Talented Endorsement from Virginia Commonwealth University. 

While working on this endorsement, my father passed away. Although this was one of the hardest times in my life, upon reflection, it also became an adventure. My mom and I moved to Colorado to be closer to my sister and her family. I continued to teach special education and went on to get my master’s degree from University of Colorado, Denver in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in reading and writing. 

My sister and her family had moved to Oklahoma for a job in the engineering field. So, we followed my sister’s family to Oklahoma. I was a special education teacher in two districts in Oklahoma before being offered the opportunity to be a Special Education Director at ESVA.  Being able to work virtually has afforded me new opportunities in the next chapter of my life.

 Hello! My name is Lynette Anderson and I work in the office as an Administrative Assistant. My family is the most important part of my life and I have been happily married for 26 years, with one beautiful daughter. We also have 4 dogs ( rescues) 1 cat ( also rescue) and 2 birds. 

      I was born in California but have lived most of my life in Oklahoma, where I graduated from Langston University with a degree in Radiology. While I enjoyed working in the medical field, I found my true calling while working with students. This also gave me the opportunity to become a coach for the Special Olympics, which was the highlight of my 9 years spent with brick and mortar.

     Why virtual? The role I have at ESVCA is much different from what I’ve done in the past. Working in the office compared to teaching in the classroom has been just as rewarding and has shown me both sides are just as important.

Kassie Hameister was born in Miami and raised in South Florida. She went to high school at St. Thomas Aquinas in Ft. Lauderdale. She continued her education at Florida Atlantic University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She then attended Nova Southeastern University where she completed her Master’s Degree in Reading Education.

Kassie has been in the field of education for 14 years. She has taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade. She has been a reading specialist for the last 6 years. She also has worked for an educational technology company training school districts all over the country.

Kassie’s love of learning and her eagerness to make a difference in a child’s life is what brought her into teaching. Virtual school is a unique and different opportunity that has allowed her to reach all different types of students from around the state. It’s been a new and exciting change in her career.

Kassie moved to Oklahoma in the fall of 2020 with her husband and two boys. During her free time, she enjoys watching her children play baseball and football. She also loves cheering on the University of Miami football team, GO CANES.

A little bit about me, I am originally from Minnesota and moved to Oklahoma just a few years back. I met my husband, finished my bachelor’s degree at UCO, and started a family, so I now call Oklahoma home! This is my third year teaching at E-School and my second year as the ELA instructor. I truly believe that we as teachers and anyone who works in education have one of the greatest jobs. We get to invest in the next generation. We get to help sow the seeds and watch how education makes a direct impact on the lives of children. How educators and schools invest in their students’ lives now will greatly impact what they do in the future. Virtual education allows students to take more ownership of their education, have flexibility with their learning, and engage in courses in a way that is just simply not possible in person. Virtual students become masters at problem-solving and time management skills, which sets them apart in their careers as students. Virtual learning allows teachers to access and show students different places, programs, and platforms that we do not have the opportunity to in person. I love hearing students talk about how virtual school has allowed them to engage in other activities and sports that they may not be able to do otherwise.
